How combos work

Glyphew replaces pointer-aiming with joystick combo gestures. Hold grip, flick a short path on the thumbstick, release to fire. The disc below cycles through the default combos — watch the cap trace each path.

  1. Hold grip on either controller to enter combo mode. The HUD dial appears.
  2. Flick the joystick in a directional sequence — up, down, left, right, or diagonals in 8-dir mode. The HUD traces your path as you go.
  3. Release grip to fire the combo. The bound action runs immediately.

Combos fire from either controller. If you release grip without completing a recognized path, nothing fires; pressing the joystick button mid-path cancels the combo.

Default combos

Glyphew ships with these 4-direction defaults. Every one is rebindable.

Rebinding a combo

  1. Open Settings › Combos (long-press the joystick to get there fast).
  2. Find the action you want to rebind and tap it.
  3. Draw your new combo path in the dialog.
  4. Tap Bind to save. The old path is cleared automatically.

Adding a combo bookmark

  1. Navigate to the page you want to bookmark.
  2. Draw a combo path that has no current binding.
  3. Press A (right controller) or X (left controller). The current page is bookmarked to that path.

Drawing that same path later opens the bookmarked URL directly.

Watching VR video

Glyphew detects VR video automatically. Open a 360, 180/VR180, fisheye, or stereo clip and it reads the format and drops you straight into the immersive view — no menus to dig through. Use a combo (or the on-screen control) to exit back to the page.

Export and import combos & bookmarks

Settings › Combos › Export saves a JSON backup to Downloads/Glyphew/ on your device. Share it to move your setup to another device or restore it after a reinstall.

  1. Go to Settings › Combos.
  2. Tap Export to save, or Import to restore.
  3. On import, select the file from the picker. Conflicting bindings are flagged before anything is changed.

Reset to defaults

Settings › Combos › Reset to defaults restores all combo paths to their factory settings. A confirmation dialog appears first.

This cannot be undone. Export your combos first if you want to keep a backup.
